In Piazza Carli in Asiago screening of documentaries on two tragic events for the Plateau: the Great War and storm Vaia
On Saturday, July 31st, at 9:00pm, in Piazza Carli in Asiago, the Asiago Film Festival proposes the screening of two interesting documentaries on different events, but united by the devastating impact on the Plateau, a hundred years apart from each other: the Great War of 1915-18 and storm Vaia, which at the end of October 2018 changed the face and history of our territory.
The first is "La matita Rossa", directed by Denis Dellai,a short documentary lasting 17 minutes, set in 1918 on the Italian front: the First World War is coming to an end but the fighting is still very bitter. A message entrusted to a order-bearer, during a bombing in a trenches, will reveal the most absurd and odious face of war.
The second screening is "La foresta ferita", a documentary by Gianpiero Capecchi, journalist, author and director of several documentaries broadcast by RAI and institutional documentaries for public bodies.
On the Asiago Plateau, a century after the end of the First World War, Vaiafalls, a tragic weather event that distorts the physiognomy of the territory: the trees uprooted by a very strong wind bring back to memory the conditions of the mountain at the end of the conflict.
This environmental emergency puts human-related climate change in the spotlight and leads to a rethink of the relationship between man and forest. Daniele Zovi and Gianni Rigoni Stern are the main voices of this story between memories and hopes for the rebirth of the wounded forest. The documentary lasts about 21 minutes.
The screening will start at 9.00 pm and admissionwill be free.
