Presentation of the book "your justice is not my" di Gherardo Colombo to gallium, for the exhibition "Authors in the streets"-August 1, 2017

Another Tuesday devoted to culture and the passionate readers in Gallium: August 1, 2017, within the Festival summer cultural AUTHORS IN the SQUARE, the author Gherardo Colombo will present his new book "thy righteousness is not my".

The meeting will begin at 17.30 in Piazza Italy in Gallium, and will be an excellent opportunity for the public to communicate with former Italian magistrate, revealing anecdotes and curiosities of his new job, written with Piercamillo Davigo.

A meeting not to be missed, in collaboration with the Library Building Roberti di Bassano del Grappa.

THY RIGHTEOUSNESS IS NOT MY

The two protagonists of clean hands. Two opposing views. One justice.

"In my opinion the prison, as well as understand it and apply it, rather than being a useful measure is harmful"-Gherardo Colombo

"If you forgive all, citizens will never have a sense of responsibility, which also passes through the submission of a person the consequences of his actions" -Piercamillo Davigo

A confrontation, an open, honest conversation, not without polemic, accents on the most burning issues of Justice in Italy. Thanks to their long experience in courtrooms, Gherardo Colombo and Piercamillo Davigo, two of the most famous magistrates of the clean handspool, provide in these pages not only a thorough diagnosis of the many evils that afflict the Justice of our country, but further suggestions and proposals for reform, without concealing conflict and differences of opinion, sometimes radical.

Far from any abstraction, slid into the reality of daily life, their questions help us to understand why the most delicate and controversial issues that affect the world of law -the same that inspired thinkers like Kant, Aristotle, Saint Augustine and Foucault-affect us so closely. Is the justice, indeed, which track the boundaries of our freedom. Is justice that indicates the degree of civilization of a country and the widespread culture that permeates its institutions. But when does a law can be said to be really "right"? Just threaten punishment to deter the thief or the criminal from committing a crime? The prison is the only solution? It is thus more effectively educate them or punish them? How common is corruption in Italy, and why, despite the season of Sport and the many investigations that have uncovered the plot twisted between politics and business, continues unabated?
