Friday, June 9, 2017 at 20.30 at the Council Hall of the Palazzon of Lusiana, on theplateau of Asiago, will present the book "Poulot in Italy" by Louis Lefebvre and translated by Graziano Rubbo.
During the evening will Andrea Vollman, who will present the details of the text.
The evening is organized on the occasion of the centenary of the great war, which is affecting the area of the plateau.
POULOT IN ITALY
Poulot, young farmer of the Limousin, part soldier in the great war. He was sent to fight in Italy, on theAsiago plateau and the Piave. The amazement and excitement for what he sees, in a land unknown to him, are interwoven with the irony and sometimes with comedy, where the practical sense from men of the fields fades in an atmosphere reminiscent of the myth.
"Poulot in Italy", however, is not a book of war, as you would expect. Loosely based on a text of the last century by Louis Lefebvre, French army officer during World War I, which brought back and romanzava the true story of a man sent into Italy with the French Expeditionary Corps in late 1917.
Poulot's name is a clear assonance with the nickname "poilu", with which they were shown the French soldiers. We are in the presence of a work that, precisely because of its diversity, ranks of law between high literary testimonies of the great European war.
