Guided Hike the Woods From After War to Storm Vaia with GUIDE ALTOPLAN - Mountain Professionals
It is 1916, a year after Italy entered the war against Austro-Hungary, Attilio Frescura writes in his work: 18 May Asiago burns, 19 May Asiago was. It is the beginning of the end for the villages, for the pastures and the highlands. Asiago and the entire Plateau still bear the signs.
Since the 1920s, an important project has been underway to rebuild Asiago, the Plateau and its forests. In our easy excursion we will visit some of these woods, talk about the events related to the First WorldWar, reconstruction and the problems related to it. Given the recent damage caused by the "Vaia" storm, we will also make a few mentions and considerations of this calamity, which like the Great War has profoundly marked our forests. In the center of the village we will pass through the streets of Asiago, photographed by Lieutenant Monti immediately after the devastation, and exhibited on display thanks to the project of recovery of the historical archive of the Municipality of Asiago. The final stage of our "journey in time" will be a visit to the Prisons Museum where together we will retrace 600 years of history in the Highlands.
For each of our easy excursions, we will walk through the territory and forests, ending the day with the guided view to the exhibition "From the Regency to Reconstruction, the Archive Unveiled" at the Prisons Museum.

WHO WE ARE - PLATEAU GUIDES
We "Guide Plateau" are the first group of professional guides of the plateau. We are local guides operating on the territory of the Plateau of the Seven Municipalities since 2008. Membership in the place by the members of the group ensures an intimate knowledge of the proposed destinations and a deeply respectful approach to the environment and its history. Our Guides are recognized mountain professionals and registered in the Province of Vicenza; they propose to accompany groups of people on excursions and tours guide on the territory, as provided by L.R. N.33 of 04/11/2002 and according to the laws of the professional registers of which fans part.
