Destination: Piana di Marcesina - Rifugio Barricata
The Marcesina, also known as the "Little Finland of Italy" for its Nordic landscape, is a jewel on the border between Veneto and Trentino that becomes even more magical in winter. A corner of snowy paradise that we will have the opportunity to cross with a snowmobile tour that will take us to the center of the Plain and to the Barricata Refuge. From here we will set off on a guided snowshoe hike through the warm colors of the sunset, we will follow the tracks of wild animals and after sunset, under the starry sky, the nature guide, a passionate amateur astronomer, will not miss the opportunity to tell you many scientific and mythological curiosities about the celestial vault.
Then a welcome aperitif and New Year's Eve dinner awaits us at the Barricata Refuge and convivial moments to celebrate the beginning of the new year in company.
After an overnight stay in a mountain hut and a mountain breakfast, we will return to the cars with a guided snowshoe hike that will allow us to enjoy the well-being that only nature can offer, starting the new year in the best possible way.
Two days to experience a mountain of emotions together, to discover the Piana di Marcesina and start 2024 surrounded by nature!
Reservation is mandatory and will be valid only after payment of the deposit.
DIFFICULTY: we assign a difficulty 2 on a scale from 1 (very easy) to 5 (challenging)
The route does not present any particular technical difficulties and there are no exposed sections.
It develops between mountain paths and dirt roads. The difference in altitude is less than 250 m. The route may be subject to variations due to the presence of ice/snow but the difficulty will remain unchanged
TO BRING WITH YOU: MOUNTAIN BOOTS (NO MOON BOOT), LAYERED CLOTHING SUITABLE FOR THE MOUNTAIN CLIMATE, WATERPROOF JACKET, WATER AND/OR HOT TEA FOR THE DURATION OF THE EXCURSION (AT LEAST 1 LITER), A SMALL SNACK SUCH AS DRIED FRUIT, HAT, GLOVES, HEADLAMP (POSSIBLY WITH A STEADY RED LIGHT), EVERYTHING YOU NEED TO SLEEP IN THE REFUGE.
COST: €245 per person for snowmobile tour, 2 guided snowshoe hikes and snowshoe rental, New Year's Eve dinner and celebrations, overnight stay and breakfast at the Barricata Refuge.
The deposit to be paid at the time of booking is €100 per person.
In case of bad weather, the excursion may be cancelled and/or subject to changes.
In the event that there is no snow, there will be an excursion on foot without the aid of snowshoes and it will not be possible to take the snowmobile tour (the price will not change).
Any food intolerances must be indicated at the time of booking.
NB: As usual, the refuge does not have private rooms, but each room has 3-4 beds.
MEETING POINT: at 1.00 p.m. at the parking lot of the Valmaron Refuge, Enego (VI)
