Destination: Biancoia - Val Lastaro - Asiago Plateau Seven Municipalities

During this special evening, step by step we rediscover the traditions of our land and experience a "Mountain of Emotions"! 

Did you know that in Veneto until 1797 the New Year was celebrated on the first of March? In the last days of February there was the feast of the bati marso (or Schella Marzo), during which it was customary to make noise to make winter escape and welcome the summer. An excursion also to discover TIME, its measurement and how it affects the life of all of us and is projected into our solar system; in fact, it will also be an opportunity to see stars, planets and constellations with the mythology that revolves around them. 

What to expect:

• a night excursion through the beech and fir woods and pastures of Val Lastaro to immerse yourself in the mountain atmosphere
• boundless panoramas where the thousand lights of the Po Valley meet the myriad of stars of the winter sky
• fascinating tales of men, traditions, nature and history from the ancient Romans to the Republic of Venice and beyond...
• and, after rediscovering the traditions of the past, we end the evening in company at the Biancoia Refuge to celebrate the Veneto New Year!

 The menu for the evening includes:

• Pie with ricotta and spinach on cheese fondue from the Plateau
• Risotto with the scents of the forest creamed with Asiago
• Sliced beef with rosemary with seasonal side dishes
• Water and wine
• Panettone and prosecco for the midnight toast! 

Reservations are required.  

📈DIFFICULTY: we assign a difficulty 3 on a scale from 1 (very easy) to 5 (challenging). The route does not present any particular technical difficulties. The uphill elevation gain is less than 270 m, there are no exposed sections.

The route may be subject to variations due to the presence - absence of ice / snow but the difficulty will remain unchanged.

🎒TO BRING ALONG: waterproof mountain boots (No Moon Boot), layered clothing suitable for the mountain climate, waterproof jacket, backpack with water for the duration of the excursion or hot tea, a small snack such as dried fruit, hat, gloves, head torch possibly with a fixed red light.

🫰COST: €20 for the guided snowshoe hike per person, €10 for children under 15 and season ticket holders. 

Snowshoes and poles rental: €10 per person. 

Participants will be offered a taste of local products. 

In the event that there is not enough snow, we will proceed on foot without the aid of snowshoes, there will be no price changes (rental excluded).

🍽 COST OF DINNER: € 30 per person at the Biancoia Refuge for the above menu to be paid directly at the refuge.
