Guided excursion with Asiago Plateau Guides - "Mount Cengio: the overhang on the Val d'Astico" POMERIGGIO

This excursion is ideal for those who want to combine an undemanding route with the visit of a place of high historical value, located in a location from which you can admire one of the most beautiful landscapes of the entirePlateau.

The hike is considered easy, walkable even by non-experienced hikers.

The trail develops along the southwest side of the mountain massif, carved for long stretches into the living rock and in some places using tunnels, for about 4 km, allowing you to reach the altitude 1347 of the summit.

The 200-meter drop does not seem to be felt, as the many points of historical interest (trenches, tunnels, artillery positions, in addition to the famous greed jump) allow pleasant stops and in case of hot days the passages in the gallery allow you to cool off.

The view of the final part of the Astico Valley and the back of the plain that you enjoy all the way takes your breath away.

READING THE DEGREE OF DIFFICULTY:

EASY: The route takes place on forest roads, dirt roads or easy mulees always well indicated and without orientation problems in cases of fog or bad weather. The elevations are contained within 250-300 meters and the length of the route is within three hours. These are a bit of long walks that require a hiking sports shoe, not necessarily the pedula or boot.

EASY/AVERAGE: The route takes place on forest roads, dirt roads or easy mulees always well indicated. The elevations are contained within 250-300 meters and the length of the route is within 3 - 5 ORE. These are a bit of long walks that require a hiking sports shoe or boot.

AVERAGE: The route definitely exceeds three hours, it is more complex, it takes place on a trail with some challenging climbs or descents but can be overcome without the support of mountaineering equipment. The terrain can be disconnected or lack of signals. The maximum difference in altitude, however, remains within the 300 meters.

MEDIUM/CHALLENGING: The route definitely exceeds three hours, it is complex for the difference in altitude that can reach 500 meters or for the length of walk up to 6 hours, it takes place on a trail with some challenging climbs or descent but can be overcome without the support of mountaineering equipment. The terrain can be disconnected or lack of signals.

CHALLENGING: These itineraries require long experience, training and physical strength from those who travel them. it is necessary to know how to move expertly even in dangerous terrain: gravels, steep slopes or steep stretches, thick scrub, high and unreferenced, passages in rock, absence of springs. The difficulty of the terrain and the distance from the points of support require total autonomy. Where indicated there may be a need to bring to the tow bivouac material such as the tent, bivouac bag, stove, food, requires training, energy and strong motivation.
