On Thursday, January 4, 2024, the Municipality of Gallio, in collaboration with Asiago Guide, proposes a unique event: "Stars and Planets in the Gallium Woods", an evening snowshoe hike that combines the beauty of winter nature with the fascinating world of astronomy.
Starting from the magical setting of the Melette di Gallio, the participants, equipped with snowshoes, will climb the slopes of Mount Longara, a place where total silence and wild animals reign in winter.
As you proceed through the silent woods, illuminated only by the light of the stars, the expert amateur astronomers of Asiago Guide will unveil the mysteries of the night sky. Participants will be able to admire the Milky Way, the constellations, the planets and listen to the ancient mythological stories that have always connected man to the universe.
The experience will be completed by the possibility of observing the stars through telescopes, which will make this evening "face to face" with the stars even more special.
The excursion will start at 5:30 pm from the Platea Bar Melette, will last about 3 hours and will face a positive elevation gain of 200 meters.
