Duration of the excursion: 4 hours including guided tour
Difficulty: EASY/MEDIUM
Height difference: 300 m

EXCURSION:

After the Battle of the Melettes in 1917, the Austrians had forced italian troops to retreat to a new line that rested on the heights of Echar, Valbella, Col del Rosso and Col d'Ecchele.
On December 23, 1917, the Austrian units of the 3rd Army Corps managed to break through the line and occupy the Valbella, continuing beyond Melago. In January, the 14th Bersaglieri Brigade attempted to attack Malga Stenfle from Valbella without achieving results.
We will accompany you along the italian line of maximum resistance to understand the events that happened in December 1917 until the end of the World War and find out how still today the signs on the ground of those battles are evident.
Cima Valbella at 1248 mslm will be our panoramic point from which we can enjoy a 360 ° winter landscape on the central Altopianese conca, towards the Grappa massif and the Venetian lagoon. We will discover little-known natural corners and how spruce and beech forests prepare for winter.
Large spaces and views as of the eye will not be lacking.
✅ All activities will be conducted with THE UTMOST RESPECT for the limitations related to regulations and decrees on the containment of the new SARS-Cov-2 coronavirus.

READING THE DEGREE OF DIFFICULTY:

EASY: The itinerary takes place on forest roads, dirt roads or easy mule tracks always well indicated and without problems of orientation in cases of fog or bad weather. The differences in height are contained within 250-300 meters and the length of the itinerary is within three hours. These are a bit long walks that require a sports hiking shoe, not necessarily the pedula or the boot.

EASY/MEDIUM: The itinerary takes place on forest roads, dirt roads or easy mule tracks always well indicated. The differences in height are contained within 250-400 meters and the length of the itinerary is between 3 - 5 HOURS. These are somewhat long walks that require a hiking sports shoe or boot.

MEDIUM: The itinerary definitely exceeds three hours, it is more complex, takes place on a path with some challenging ascent or descent but passable without the support of mountaineering equipment. The terrain can be bumpy or lack signals. However, the maximum altitude difference remains within 400 meters.

MEDIUM/DEMANDING: The itinerary definitely exceeds three hours, it is complex for the difference in height that can reach 700 meters or for the length of the walk up to 6 hours, it takes place on a path with some challenging ascent or descent but passable without the support of mountaineering equipment. The terrain can be bumpy or lack signals.

CHALLENGING: These itineraries require long experience, training and physical strength from those who follow them. it is necessary to be able to move with expertise even in dangerous soils: scree, steep slopes or steep stretches, dense scrub, high and unreferenced, passages in rock, absence of springs. The difficulty of the terrain and the distance from the support points require total autonomy. Where indicated there may be a need to bring to the following bivouac material such as the tent, bivouac bag, stove, food, requires training, energy and strong motivation.
