Guided Excursion/Ciaspolata - "Cima Valbella: winter landscapes - a picture-postcard photo" with Plateau Guides - Mountain Professionals

After the Battle of the Melettes in 1917,the Austrians had forced the Italian troops to fall back on a new line that leaned on the heights of Echar, Valbella, Col del Rosso and Col d'Ecchele.

On 23 December 1917, the Austrian units of the 3rd Army Corps managed to break through the line by occupying the Valbella, then continuing beyond Melago. In January, the 14th Target Brigade attempted to attack from Valbella towards Malga Stenfle, but did not get results.

We will accompany you along the line of maximum Italian resistance to understand the events that happened in December 1917 until the end of the World War and find out how even today the signs on the ground of those battles are evident.

Cima Valbella at 1248 mslm will be our vantage point from which we can enjoy a 360-degree einvrnal landscape on the central plains of the Highlands, towards the Grappa massif and the Venetian lagoon.
