Friday 18 August 2023, from 10.00 to 13.00, IL FRONTE DI VAIA, GUIDED EXCURSION ORGANIZED BY THE Pro Loco of Cesuna with Asiago Guide.

Knowing a territory and its events, helps a lot to read the landscape, understand where it originates and guess how it will evolve ... Step by step, following the path created between the historical and forest paths of Monte Lemerle, we will talk about Vaia, its impact on the environment and on the inhabitants. The destruction first and then the reconstruction ... exactly as it was with the Great War. 

A beautiful and brand new path that winds through the forest, able to fully interpret the 2 events: Vaia and the Great War. During the excursion the guide will illustrate some interesting elements that unite these 2 themes and will be an opportunity to discover wonderful works of art made by local artists using the wood of the trees felled by Vaia. 

Reservation is required - participation for a fee.

INS AND OUTS

MEETING POINT: in the square of Pala Ciclamino in Cesuna (Via Brigata Forlì, 13) 

DIFFICULTY: we assign a difficulty 2 on a scale from 1 (very easy) to 5 (challenging)

The route is a ring and does not present particular technical difficulties. It develops starting from the village of Cesuna on some short stretches of paved road, mountain paths and dirt roads. The difference in height uphill is less than 250 m, there are no exposed sections.

TO BRING WITH YOU: mountain boots, layered clothing suitable for the mountain climate, waterproof jacket, water for the duration of the excursion (at least 1 liter), a small snack such as dried fruit, sunscreen, hat, sunglasses.

COST: 5 € for the guided excursion (free for residents in the Municipality of Roana)
