
On Sunday 6 September 2026 , the ceremony to commemorate the massacre of Granezza will be held, an event in memory of the Fallen of all wars, but in particular to commemorate the 250 Fallen of the "Div. Alpina Monte Ortigara" (Plateau of the 7 Municipalities - Vicenza), of all the partisan formations, of the Italian Liberation Corps and of the deportees and internees in prison camps, and to pay homage, on Monte Corno, to the Fallen Unknown for Freedom.
The event is promoted by the Permanent Committee for the Commemorations of the Resistance of the Alto Vicentino, with the Municipalities of Asiago, Lugo di Vicenza and Lusiana Conco, the Association of Volunteers of Freedom - A.V.L. Vicenza and the Italian Federation of Volunteers of Freedom - F.I.V.L.
Ceremony program
The commemoration will take place according to the following program:
- 09:30 am: meeting at Monte Corno, in the Municipality of Lusiana Conco - Honors at the Monument "To the Unknown Fallen for Freedom"
- 10:00 a.m.: departure from Monte Corno towards Bocchetta Granezza, in the Municipality of Lugo di Vicenza, where the Honors at the Memorial Stone to the Fallen of SPEER will take place
- 10:30 a.m.: in Granezza, in the Municipality of Asiago, at the Sacellum in honor of the Fallen for Freedom 1943-45, the ceremony will take place with Holy Mass and commemorative speech.
The commemoration will be accompanied by the notes of the Lusiana Band Corps and the Monte Pasubio Choir of Schio.
This ceremony represents not only a moment of remembrance and homage to the fallen of the Resistance, but also an opportunity to reflect on the values of freedom, democracy and justice that animated the Liberation Struggle. Participating means honoring the memory of those who fought and lost their lives for a free future, renewing the commitment to preserve and maintain these fundamental values also in today's society.
