Tuesday, January 5, 2016, Asiago, Asiago Chorus will welcome in the new year with an engaging and exciting concert of Carols for Christmas.
The evening will begin at 21:00 hours at the Duomo San Matteo di Asiago and will be the perfect opportunity to rediscover friends and acquaintances and wish them a happy new year.
CHORUS ASIAGO
The "Coro Asiago" was established in 1952 by a group of friends were members of the "schola cantorum" Parish, who decided to come together to learn the songs of Trento, animated by a. T. passion for the mountains and for singing, supported by the friendship that had been created between them.
The debut was on August 16, 1952 in Asiago on stage at the square of the "Prunno", under the name "Asiago" choral group; other concerts that met with favorable reviews by fans and critics and this created enthusiasm inside and outside of the choir and made him increasingly convinced of having to continue the journey, preparing and presenting increasingly challenging and important songs.
The Repertoire was enriched with fanciful re-creations of Gianni Malatesta, from fine compositions of Marco Chapman, from sublime musical inventions of Arturo Benedetti Michelangeli, read Paul's research proposals from polyphonic choral harmonies, by new Bon Bepi de Marzi.
Even the name "Asiago" choral group, around the years 60, changed, becoming "Coro Monte Ortigara" in tune with that of the newly formed Anas section of Asiago.
The address prevalent in those years was to propose the traditional songs and the events of the "great war", that marked deeply the people of Asiago plateau; all this as a kind of re-enactment as an end in itself, but rather with the intention of offering "real" stories, pages of real life, to reflect on the errors of man and on the futility of violence.
Just a few years later the choir took its current name of "Asiago Choir" and, with the alternation of the various directors, could achieve many and different experiences, confirming, from time to time, the will and the commitment to continuing, conscious of being in addition to choral expression montanara. also subject of creation and dissemination of popular music culture.
Over the years, even the musical aspect underwent a maturation and the choir, in the recent past, has turned his attention to other aspects of the Folksong, in what is termed the "new chorus", seen as a chance to broaden their horizons, to try to enrich their cultural background and propose as well as well as other types of musicality.
The choir has grown together with the Community in which it is inserted and, therefore, with the development of tourism, the activity is especially intense especially during summer and winter, when the Asiago plateau is the destination for many tourists.
The choir currently consists of 41 items that come from various municipalities of the plateau; This allowed him to grow numerically and technically, taking one district size never known before.
The choir undertakes an annual intensive, supporting about 20 concerts a yearabroad, taking part in many festivals and events that take place outside our region.
Tradition, rediscovery of roots, new musical experiences: is on these lines that the chorus Asiago today is moving, conscious of its role within the social and cultural context of the Asiago plateau.
