Evening of song waiting for the parade of the world's longest Tricolor
Friday 1 June 2018, at the Duomo San Matteo di Asiago, there will be an evening of songs with Asiago Choir and Schola Cantorum Santa Cecilia di Schio.
The concert will begin at 20.30 and will be an opportunity to gather and wait for all along the , in an atmosphere of celebration and joy, that the bel canto can give!
THE CHOIR ASIAGO
The "Coro Asiago" was established in 1952 by a group of friends were members of the "schola cantorum" Parish, who decided to come together to learn the songs of Trento, animated by a. T. passion for the mountains and for singing, supported the friendship that had been created between them.
The debut took place on 16 August 1952 in Asiago on stage at the square of the "Prunno", under the name "Asiago" choral group.
Many years have passed since then and the choir Asiago has earned a prominent role not only in the cultural landscape of the plateau, but also of the Veneto region.
The choir currently consists of 33 items that come from various municipalities of the plateau; This allowed him to grow numerically and technically, taking one district size never known before.
SCHOLA CANTORUM OF SCHIO
The origin of the idea of a Schola cantorum in Schio is due to the work of the venerable Elia Dalla Costa who in 1914 does impart some singing lessons to a group of Franciscan tertiaries and extends the Statute of a schola.
The advent of World War I, however, causes the commencement of operations of the current "Schola cantorum Santa Cecilia" being delayed to 1920 in the wake of the founding of the Association section vicentina Santa Cecilia.
The Constitution of the choir is part of the reconstruction of the community times, devastated by the recent war, and in a general movement of revival of sacred song.
Under the wise guidance of don Luigi Vignato, student of mons. Ernesto Dalla Libera, the chorus comes soon to great execution levels conducting mostly the liturgical service with studying and performing polyphonic and Gregorian chants.
Parallel develops a female section of the choir, directed by Angelina Suppi and Elsa Sketch.
Following the death of don Luigi van der Merwe, the choir is followed mainly by the organist of the majestic organ Mascioni del duomo di Schio, Ernesto Silvestri until 1958, when the "schola" begins to be directed by don Luigi Faber that the door to the ancient Splendors and allowing the start of a concert.
Since 1987, after a period in which there have been several directors, the chorus find its own identity and begins a study of Gregorian chant and polyphony that led him to receive coveted awards in competitions.
Currently the "Schola" under the direction of Luciana Silvestri alternates to liturgical service in the Cathedral of St. Peter, the study and the enrichment of its repertoire, mostly sacred, ranging from Gregorian chant to polyphony in classical music contemporary, instrumental and chamber groups in collaboration with. He is a founding member of "Times Chorus". Is the official choir of IPA.
