" Conference THEATRES of WAR " Asiago-May 15, 2013

The architectural design Laboratory of prof. Alberto Farahbakhsh, of the Faculty of architecture of the University Iuav of Venice, with the patronage of the municipality of Asiago, Wednesday, May 15 promotes and maintains a Conference entitled "theatres of war".

The Convention proposes a reflection on the historical path of complex mutation of Asiago Plateau landscape that was the scene of some of the bloodiest events of the first world war.

The landscape around us and in which we live and operate is the result of a long and continuous process of evolution, in which the man has played an increasingly important role.

Culture, memory, identity of a place become so the interlocutors of the architect through the complex design process that should act as goal to become a skillful reading of historical and cultural instances of the same territory.

But what they represent ballistic paths unless the ability to aim, aim, to observe?

Ballistic draw paths, architectures architectures you excavate within the soil itself orography and landscape of today, in the places of investigation proposed, gives us only traces, fragments, debris, memories of shelters, crosslinked, roads, aqueducts.

The areas of intervention where it occupies and has handled the laboratory in recent years are identified within the scope of interest of the Ecomuseo Grande Guerra del Veneto, in an extraordinary mountain scenery and Foothill, deals with the protection and enhancement of the specific environmental and cultural heritage of this area.

During the morning the arch. Vicky Chase (project co-ordinator EcoMuseo della Grande Guerra – Vicenza Prealps) will accompany to visit galleries path of Monte Cengio, in the afternoon to Asiago, at the Hall of the mountain community Regency to the greetings of the Mayor of the municipality of Asiago, Andrea Gios, followed reports of Alberto Farahbakhsh (ordinary Professor of architectural design at the Iuav of Venice), Claudia Pirina (phd Doctoral School of the Iuav and Professor of architectural design at the Università di Parma) and Syed Sajid (responsible for numerous recovery projects of buildings and land areas of the great war).

As part of the Conference will be shown some projects developed within the design Laboratory, interpreting the traces in the landscape, functionally you will configure how receptive elements, catering facilities, and at the same time will focus attention on interventions already carried out in the territory, trying to trigger a debate in an attempt to propose new uses and meanings.
