On Thursday, August 27, 2026, at 5:50 p.m., the CuCuFestival, the International Street Art Festival promoted and coordinated by the Municipality of Roana, continues at the Park of Legends in Cesuna, with "Edukikan (with a valiant heart)", a show by the Afuma company, from Togo.

The scene comes alive through acrobatic stilts, percussion, traditional dances and songs, in a performance that has its roots in Togolese culture and in the deep bond with ancestors. Accompanying the dancers is the figure of the griot, guardian of memory and oral tradition, who punctuates the performance with words and drums.

The name Afuma derives from an African plant similar to the fern, capable of growing clinging to trees without falling: an image that symbolically recalls the wader, the man who remains suspended and maintains his balance. For the artists of the company, in fact, stilts also represent a connection with the land, with their origins and with a practice handed down over time.

Afuma's participation in European festivals also takes on a special significance: the performances help to support a circus school in Togo, helping to preserve and pass on this ancient tradition to new generations.

In case of bad weather, the show will be held at the Palaciclamino in Cesuna.
