"Aperitif with the author" in Gallio, cultural meetings organized by the Giunti al Punto Library
Tuesday, August 24, 2021 at 21:00 in Gallio,for the literary review"Aperitif with the author",there will be a cultural evening entitled"The forest of legality",organized by the library Giunti al Punto di Asiago.
This time it is a very special event, because at the event there will be four authors,who will present their books to the public present.
The protagonists of the evening will be:
- Daniele Zovi with the book "Autobiography of snow. The shapes of crystals, the end of glaciers and other stories from a silent world"
- Isidore Furlan with the book "The Commander. Poachers, malefactors and other stories"
- Giancarlo Ferron with the book "Mother Nature"
- Luca Segafreddo with the book "I saw the woodccas laughing. Stories of hunters, animals and wine"
The meeting will take place at the Palasport of Gallio.

For Daniele Zovi, born among the peaks that frame theAsiago Plateau,snow is part of the landscape of memory, the physical space in which our memories move. The one with dar snea – as the snow is called in the Cimbra language of the plateau – is a love that began as a child, while watching the flakes go down slowly, and then remained constant and passionate in a life of work as a forester.
Through personal stories and legends, studies and scientific data, Zovi retraces in these pages his Alpine education. We follow its steps along the snowy paths, from the explorations on the skis of the adolescen¬za, on the mountains of the house, to the military marches along the streets of the Great War, from trips to Russia and the Andes to the slopes of the great Himalayan glaciers, where, embedded in the crystals, the biological me¬moria of our planet is preserved.
Among the woods and the ice, we find ourselves immersed in a fantastic world, fragile and silent, of which, in recent times, we have begun to lose experience: while every year the snowfalls dimi¬nuiscono dramatically, Zovi composes a poetic autobiography, a tribute to a world every day more precarious: an expedition of recoveries towards their past , and an urgent attempt to safeguard our history, enclosed in snow.
THE AUTHOR DANIELE ZOVI
Daniele Zovi was born in Roana and raised in Vicenza. He graduated in Forestry in Padua and for forty years served in the State Forestry Corps, first as an officer and then as a manager. In 2017 he was appointed brigadier general of the Carabi-nieri-Forestry Command of Veneto and is one of the leading experts in the field of wild animals, author of several treatises on the subject.
After the success of Alberi sapienti, antiche foreste e Italia selvatica,both published by Utet, he published for De Agostini a book of fiction for children, Ale and Rovere. The amazing tree trip.
BOOK "THE COMMANDER. Poachers, malefactors and other stories" by Isidoro Furlan - Antilia
A strongly autobiographical text: the story of a career lived in the constant commitment to stop attacks on our environmental and agri-food heritage and bring to justice those responsible for the offenses.
This book tells the figure of a Commander of the Carabinieri Forestali and some of his experiences during fifty years of work lived as a mission, from the beginning until his discharge as General. The defense of the sinful falcons in Aspromonte, of the robin in the Lombard valleys and many other stories of poaching and fierce oppression of protected species are alternated with as many vicissitudes of scams and agri-food sophistication as well as real attacks on the healthiness of the environment.
The book stimulates the continuous curiosity of the reader and leaves him more informed and aware.

BOOK "I SAW THE WARCKS LAUGHING - Stories of hunters, animals and wine" - Itinera Progetti
Ten stories,with a hunting theme,of facts that really happened and narrated in a somewhat ironic way, describing situations that, often, go beyond being told.
It is not a hunting book as you are used to reading, it comes out of all the schemes shining for originality and humor. The dialogues between the protagonists are left as if you were narrating the adventure at the bar, in front of a glass of wine, but with the mixture of the verses of great poets, expertly chosen and able to integrate into the story, sometimes even becoming part of it.
THE AUTHOR LUCA SEGAFREDDO
Luca Segafreddo, Scledense, goes to study in England after high school and obtains the First Certificate of the University of Cambridge. Graduated in Cà Foscari in Conservation of Cultural Heritage with an archaeological address, he lives and works in Schio.
