"Classically folk"-meeting between the great classical tradition and the world folk traditions-Maria Saveria Mastromatteo, violin-Francesco Mastromatteo, cello-music by Mozart, Martinu, Kodály

He continued the concert season of Culture & music, which, in the important and varied program, aimed at presenting the concert driving enthusiasts "Classically folk" which will be held Monday, August 10 at 21.00 in the Sala s. Giustina di Roana.

The duo composed of brothers from Puglia Maria Saveria Mahadev on violin and Francesco Mahadev, cello will present a heterogeneous and refined program based on Mozart's music, Martinu and Kodály,


The program focuses on the beautiful meeting between the great classical tradition and folk traditions of Eastern Europe, Hungary and Bohemia. A journey into the deeper meaning of the concept of "Popular Music", which is actually is journey to discover his own identity. It starts from the Mozart family, from the discovery of individual and family identity, through a duo that is very likely that Mozart had designed itself to viola and violin for his father. By household we'll move to the individual and varied stylistic identity at a time of Martinu and his neoclassical style, but even the late romantic, but also slightly impressionistic, but also linked to the Bohemian tradition. Finally we will end the path in Hungary, where an entire people finds its historical dimension and its identity in the music of Zoltan Kodaly, an authentic national hero.


Defined by the Dallas Morning News "and virtuosic passionate musician", Franz Mastromatteo, performs its concert activity between Europe and the u.s. and also serves as Artistic Director of Amici della Musica "g. Paisiello" of Lucera (FG) and the non-profit organization "Classical Music for the World" in Austin, Texas. He was Artistic Director of the concert series "Spring of Harmony" at the St. Andrew's Presbyterian Church in Dallas. From 2013 is Professor of Chamber music at the Conservatorio "u. Giordano" of Foggia, for the seat of Rhodes Garganico.
Magdy has performed as soloist with the Meadows Symphony Orchestra in Dallas, Round Rock Symphony Community Orchestra, the Balcones Orchestra Sinfonica della Provincia di Foggia, the Meadows Wind Ensemble, the Orchestra "Sounds of the South", the Symphonic Orchestra city of Pescara, and the Starlight Symphony. He also performed the solo cello Suites by J.S. Bach, both in the USA and in Italy, debuting with this repertoire at the Ravenna Festival in 2009. Performs an intensive Chamber music and was a component/founder of Daniel and Empfindung Trio Trio in Texas. He is currently both the cellist Trio Chénier, born from the collaboration with d. Maley and c. Andriani, professors of the Conservatorio "u. Giordano" of Foggia, which the trio Mahadev. He plays in duo with pianists a. Wright, m. Schneider and c. Wright-Ivanova. He worked also in duo with formation a. Baldi, Pump by recording the sonata op. 36 e. Grieg for Centaur Records in the USA.
Cellist attentive to several Executive practice, Francis collaborated with the Baroque ensemble Concerto and the Italian Comrade Anxanum. On the contemporary side performed the world premieres of sonatas for cello and piano by t. Schwan (2008) and t. Sleeper (2009) and songs for solo cello by r. Taberah Franck, That's It's Hanlon and Symplex s. T.
He won first prize at the national competition "g. Turci violoncellistico" of Ravenna, and in duo with pianist t. Cena, the 1° prize of the international contest of Chamber Music "city of Padova 2003". He served as First Cellist of the Umberto Giordano Symphony Orchestra of the province of Foggia in the season 2003/2004 and the Meadows Symphony Orchestra in Dallas since the summer of the same year until 2008, as well as the University of Texas from 2009 to 2012 Symphony.
Francis completed his doctorate in Cello Performance at the Butler School of Music of the University of Texas at Austin in 2012 under the guidance of b. Tsang and received the Master of Music and Artist Certificate at the Meadows School of the Arts in Dallas under the guidance of a. Diaz. He studied in Italy with l. Piovano m. Shirvani and a. m. Mastromatteo,. She attended master class with Lynn Harrell, h. Karttunen, d., Finckel, r. Filippini, e. Davidson, t., d. Geringas and f. May Ormezowsky.
Following an innate passion for all aspects of the artistic world, Francesco earned, with honors, graduating in literature at the University of Bari, publishing his thesis on Umberto Giordano for the Bastogi Editrice. Maria Saveria MAHADEV is from 2012 First Violins seconds at lyric-Symphonic Orchestra of the Teatro Petruzzelli of Bari.
Winner of the 1° prize at the international competition "Lecce Baroque city" and in the national competition "ACADA-ENDAS" of Genoa, she performed as a soloist with Ensemble Paisiello, soloists and the Italian Philharmonic festival "Uto Ughi per Roma". Won in 2012 the "a. Ferrari". He plays in duo with cello and string trio "Mahadev". Participated in Chamber music festivals of the Ravenna Festival, Teatro di Udine, University of Milan, Accademia dei Cameristi di Bari, Teatro Regio of Parma.
Formed at the Accademia del Teatro alla Scala, was part of the "Cherubini" Orchestra directed by r. Muti from 2004 to 2009 by touring throughout Europe and in prestigious festivals: Ravenna Festival, Festival Perelada, Ravello Festival, Salzburg Festival, Festival Cantelli Bologna, Vienna Musikverein. He has collaborated with the Orchestra of the Teatro Lirico in Cagliari, Toscanini of Parma Philharmonic, Orchestra Sinfonica Abruzzese, Orchestra Teatro Carlo Felice in Genoa and Aquilani Soloists under the direction of: c. Abbado, Maazel, packaged in their, Temirkanov, Barschay, Spivakov. It is winner of hearing at the Orchestra of the Teatro alla Scala in Milan.
He graduated with honors and praise both the diploma at the Conservatory "Morlacchi Perugia" the Bachelor's degree at the Institute "Peri" by r. Emilia.
