Step by step you enter an enchanted forest characterized by the balsamic notes of fir and larch trees. Ancient military roads lead to the summit of Mount Verena (2020 m) from which you can enjoy an incredible 360-degree panorama that sweeps from the Alps to the Po Valley, made even more magical by the light of the sunset!
The imposing Forte Verena, an Italian war work of the First World War, has towered over this mountain for over a hundred years.
Its ruins take the visitor on a journey into the past that takes us back to the first days of the War and to explore various aspects that characterized the "War of the Forts".
In company, in the quiet, we can therefore "not forget" and feel even more alive a sense of gratitude for the tranquility and well-being that can be experienced today at over 2000 m.
At the top, the evening will be brightened by the warm welcome of the Forte Verena Refuge which has a tasty typical dinner in store (€ 25 per person to be paid on site):
- Sopressa with homemade pickled vegetables
- Dumplings in butter or broth
- Baked ribs with side dishes
- Dessert of the house
- Water, 1/4 wine, coffee
At the end of the dinner you will return to the cars with an excursion under a starry sky of which the guide will tell you myths and scientific curiosities to make the evening even richer in emotions!

DIFFICULTY: we assign a difficulty of 4 on a scale of 1 (very easy) to 5 (challenging)
The route runs through mountain paths and dirt roads. The difference in height is less than 500 m, there are no exposed sections.
WHAT TO BRING WITH YOU: waterproof mountain boots, layered clothing suitable for the mountain climate, waterproof jacket, backpack with water, a small snack such as dried fruit, headlamp possibly with a steady red light, sunglasses, hat. It is recommended to have an extra layer of clothing in your backpack to wear after dinner.
COST: €15 for the guided excursion per person, €10 for children under 15 and season ticket holders.
COST OF DINNER: € 25 per person at the Forte Verena Refuge to be paid directly on site. Dinner is mandatory because it takes place along the way.
