Saturday 28 and Sunday 29 October 2023 , on the occasion of the anniversary of the Vaia storm, an exceptional event will be held, the Drone Day "From the Storm to the Art of Vaia" in the municipalities of Vetriolo Terme and Grigno and in Marcesina. 

The event offers participating drone drivers a unique journey to the places affected by the storm of late October 2018, allowing them to fly with drones near two of the extraordinary sculptures created by the highland artist Marco Martalar with the remains of the trees felled that fateful night by the force of the wind: the she-wolf of the Logorai in Vetriolo - Levico Terme and the Aquila di Vaia in Grigno - Marcesina. These works, in places battered by the storm, are symbols of resilience, representing the combination of art and nature, between pain and rebirth.

Saturday 28, after flying on the Lupa del Logorai, the day will end with a dinner at the Rifugio Barricata, accompanied by stories related to the Vaia storm. It will be a moment of sharing and reflection, made even more special by the exclusive presence of the sculptor Marco Martalar, who will enrich the evening with anecdotes about the creation of his works and their symbolism.

And Sunday 29, after the flight on the Eagle of Vaia, we will have lunch in the hut, and then fly on the Plain of Marcesina, the area of the Asiago 7 Municipalities plateau most affected by the Vaia storm.

PROGRAM OF THE DRONE DAY "FROM THE STORM TO THE ART OF VAIA"

SATURDAY 28 OCTOBER  

Meeting point in Vetriolo, Levico Terme (TN) at Nif Alpine Taste.  

• 11.00 – 12.20 registration and briefing on the event 
• 1.30 pm transfer on foot about 20 '– 1 km slightly uphill from the local at the Lupa del Lagorai
• 14.00 flight at Lupa del Lagorai and surroundings
• Around 17.00 transfer by car from Vetriolo to the Rifugio Barricata – Grigno (TN) - 51 km, 1h 6'- where at 19.00 we will have dinner all together at the Refuge
• At 20.30 tales of the Vaia storm with the exclusive participation of the sculptor and artist Marco Martalar  

SUNDAY 29 OCTOBER 

• 9.00 am flight over the Aquila di Vaia and wooded area hit by the storm
• Transfer to Marcesina where at 13.00 you will enjoy lunch together at a Malga
• After lunch, flight on the plain of Marcesina the area of the Plateau of the 7 Municipalities most affected by the Vaia storm
• 17.00 final greetings and conclusion of the event

OVERNIGHT STAY

For those who wish, it is possible to live a unique, magical and exclusive experience, sleeping at the Barricata Refuge (located under the Aquila di Vaia).

Promotion reserved for participants of the event: night with breakfast at 50 euros per person!

PARTICIPATION REGULATIONS

• The registration of each participant must be made through the form below and must send it by e-mail to  
• The event is limited!
• UAV pilots in good standing are eligible to participate with:    
   - Certificate A1-A3 or higher    
  - Registration in good standing to D-Flight    
  - Valid drone insurance
• The flights will take place in shifts regulated by the organization and according to the procedures that it deems appropriate to guarantee everyone the maximum safety conditions in full compliance with the limitations imposed by ENAC. 
• The cost of the event per participant is € 149.00 and includes lunches, dinner and permits to pass by the road to reach L'Aquila di Vaia. 
• The deposit to be paid is € 100.00 through Postamat to:

• On October 28th each participant must present himself with the completed and signed form (paper) and with the fee of € 49.00 in cash.
• The participation fee does not include bed and breakfast at the Rifugio Barricata, which must be communicated within one week before the event to the Rifugio at indicating participation in the event (Gruppo Dronisti).   
  The cost of accommodation, reserved exclusively for participants, is € 50.00.
• Any cancellation must always be communicated by email to the address no later than one week before the event.
• In the registration form must be reported as written the license plate number and model of the car for the permits necessary to transit on the road leading to Aquila di Vaia.
