Guided nature -cultural excursion to the Valley of the Mills of Lusiana and Sant'Anna with packed lunch

Description:
From the Covolo village of Lusiana we head to the Valley of Above to enter the magical and secluded world of the White Chiavone stream. Over the centuries the force of water coming from the southern springs of the Plateau of the Seven Municipalities, was used here through several hydraulic machines. The ancient mills served to grind wheat, "pestarini" to shine barley, sweaters to beat iron and sawmill to make planks and beams.
Here where time seems to have stopped, the dry stone walls, fountains, capitals and mule mills tell us about lives passed in close contact with Nature. After passing Valli di Sotto we head to the Church of St. Anne and Valentine's Day where we can relax and eat the packed lunch and then resume our excursion guided by the gurgling of the water, crossing wooden bridges and following the traces of wildlife.
Thanks to the presence of water, the vegetation of this area is particularly lush and rich in biodiversity: you can admire an explosion of spring blooms and enjoy the shade of centuries-old chestnuts, carpini, oaks and tinniths.

DIFFICULT: We assign a difficulty 3 on a scale from 1 (very easy) to 5 (challenging)
The route is ring-like and does not present any particular technical difficulties, but requires a minimum of physical preparation and familiarity with hiking in the mountain environment. The descent will develop between a few short stretchs of paved road, dirt roads and mountain paths, while climbing the ancient staircase of the Calà del Sasso (the staircase can show up.  The uphill difference is less than 550 m, there is only one short exposed section.

TO PORT WITH Self: SCARPONI FROM MONTAGNA, layered clothing suitable for the mountain climate, waterproof jacket, water for the duration of the excursion (at least 1), possibly a small snack such as dried fruit, sunscreen, sunglasses, cap, PRANZO AL SACCO!

COST: 15 euros, for the guided excursion. 5th for children under 15 and for teachers (exhibiting a special model).
