META: Open Air Museum of the Great War of Mount Zebio - Asiago plateau and the Seven Municipalities (VI)
We walk in the middle of an environmental context where among the pastures of Malga Zebio there are numerous trenches of the First World War, surrounded by a mix of history and nature that also takes us back to the war events that took place right here on Mount Zebio, whose summit reaches 1,717 meters.
The entire area is a military memorial and is home to an open-air museum of the Great War.
In fact, on June 8, 1917 at 17:30, for reasons never clarified, a mine tunnel broke out on the top of the Zebio that the Italian soldiers had prepared, dug already since the previous autumn, to prepare an attack. The mine killed or buried alive dozens of Italian and Austro-Hungarian soldiers as well as many officers of the Catania Brigade who were on site that day in anticipation of the imminent attack on the Zebio - Ortigara sector.
Through this excursion, the guide will accompany you to retrace those moments. Historical, cultural and naturalistic topics will be treated. The route will be scenic at 360 °, and we will be able to enjoy the view of unexpected views, first of all the one on the central basin of the plateau that appears to our eyes with all its diversity and landscape riches.
Along the way we can enjoy a local aperitif, enjoying the company of our hiking companions and sharing the experiences of the day.

DIFFICULTY: we assign a difficulty 3 on a scale from 1 (very easy) to 5 (challenging) The route is a ring and does not present particular technical difficulties. It develops between pastures, trenches, dirt roads and mountain paths, the difference in height uphill is less than 250m.
TO TAKE WITH YOU: MOUNTAIN BOOTS, LAYERED CLOTHING SUITABLE FOR THE MOUNTAIN CLIMATE, WATERPROOF JACKET, WATER FOR THE DURATION OF THE EXCURSION (AT LEAST 1 liter), a small snack such as dried fruit, sunglasses.

To reach the indicated location you will have to take a stretch of dirt road, practicable by car, however, paying attention especially when crossing the rainwater drainage channels. It is advisable to take them sideways. The entrance to the dirt road takes place near "Casa Sant'Antonio" in Asiago -
