On Monday 25 May 2026 , the area between Enego and Foza will host an evocative guided excursion dedicated to the discovery of some of the most significant places on the Asiago Plateau linked to the Great War.
The meeting is scheduled at 9:00 am at the Hotel Alpi in Foza, the starting point of a day that will combine history, nature and high-altitude views.
During the morning, participants will be accompanied on a guided tour of Fort Lisser, the imposing fortification nicknamed "The Lion of the Plateau" by Emilio Lussu. Located in a panoramic position, the fort represents one of the most fascinating historical testimonies of the defensive system of the First World War.
Afterwards, lunch is scheduled at the Malga Ronchetto Refuge, immersed in the quiet of the Marcesina Plain.
In the afternoon, the excursion will continue with a guided tour of the Italian trenches of Monte Castelgomberto and Monte Fior, in a route also suitable for those who want to take an easy walk. Among high-altitude meadows, stratified rocks and historical memories still visible in the area, participants will be able to learn more about the strategic role of these mountains during the conflict.
The initiative represents an interesting opportunity to get to know some of the symbolic places of the Plateau of the Seven Municipalities, where nature and history continue to intertwine in a unique way today.
