Saturday, July 2, 2022, at 9:30 am, a guided historical-naturalistic excursion awaits you with a visit to Forte Campolongo and Buso dello Sciason in the company of Asiago Guide.

A path in the woods leads us to a karst chasm, the Sciason that hides stories of War, popular legends and a bit of chemistry!

Following the trail you reach the 1720 m of Forte Campolongo. From there, after the visit to the military fortification, we will enjoy one of the most beautiful views : overlooking the Val d'Astico and the Small Dolomites with a look between Veneto and Trentino. 

A stop among the domes of the gunboats, will allow us to deepen what was the Battle of the Forts: one of the less known phases of the First World War. 

The return to the former military road leads us back easily to the Campolongo Refuge. 

INFORMATION

Reservations are required. 

DIFFICULTY: we assign a difficulty 2 on a scale from 1 (very easy) to 5 (challenging). The route is a ring and does not present particular technical difficulties. It develops between mountain paths and dirt roads. The difference in altitude uphill is less than 250 m, there are no exposed sections.

TO TAKE WITH YOU: mountain boots, layered clothing suitable for the mountain climate, waterproof jacket, water for the duration of the excursion (at least 1 liter), a small snack such as dried fruit, cap.

COST: 5€, for the guided excursion.

MEETING POINT: 9.30 am at Piazzale del Rifugio Campolongo (Centro Fondo Campolongo) - Via Verenetta, 36010 Rotzo VI. It starts on foot from the meeting place.
