For Saturday, December 26, 2015, Asiago Guide organizes an interesting hike on Mount Katz, also known as Monte B.
The meeting is set for 9 hours and the hike will last half a day. It will be an opportunity to explore one of the most beautiful spots on the plateau, from where you can enjoy a spectacular view of the town of Asiago and the mountains to the South.
Dominating Centre: Mount B
MEETING PLACE: 09.00 hours at the parking lot of the Consortium of dairies (via f. Baracca Asiago)
DISPLACEMENT: with their own transport.
DURATION: half day
Difficulty: 2 on a scale of 1 to 5
DESCRIPTION: The Monte B or better Monte Katz, is located immediately North of Asiago and from it you can enjoy a beautiful view over the village and the mountains of the South. It is not very high (1225 m) but due to its exposure to the South is the first place where the snow melts, and then you can pick up the first grasses. For the same reason, most attentive and quiet hikers spotted deer and hares often who will find a few blades of grass to graze virtually all winter long!
Cost: 10 euros, free under 18 years. Including Guide, taxes and insurance.
TO BRING: mountaineering boots (NO MOON BOOT), layered clothing (in winter there may be extreme cold, but walking or snowshoeing there heats up quickly), water or warm yourself for the duration of the hike.
