EXCURSION:
Guided hike to Forte Interrotto north of the Asiago Plateau. Lovely place for views of the central plain of the Plateau. Departure on foot directly from the center of Asiago. We will cross some of the most suggestive districts of the north area, until we reach the beautiful panoramic point at 1392 m.s.l.m on Mount Hinterrucks which from Cimbro means "mountain located to the north", and mistakenly Italianized in "interrupted".
The Interrupted Barracks takes its name from the homonymous mountain: built in 1887 entirely in local stone. Together with the Tagliata Val d'Assa and the batteries of Mount Rasta, it had the task of establishing a barrier of the upper Val d'Assa in case of Austrian advance. During the Great War it was heavily damaged. Occupied by the Austro-Hungarian army on 22 May 1916 during the advance towards Asiago. It was then adapted as an observatory on the Plateau (with the affixing of some lighthouses) and equipped with some small pieces. During the consumming of the Strafexpedition in these places was one of the most valuable acts by the Italian army now at the mercy of the enemy.
