"Feeding in the Great War" - Conference curated by R.Covolo at Corbin Fort - 14 July 2019

Historic conference on the Great War by Romeo Covolo at Punta Corbin Fort

On Sunday, July 14, 2019,at the Corbin Fort,an interesting conference will be held on the theme "Military nutrition duringthe 1915-1918conflict", edited by Romeo Covolo.

The conference deals with a historical insight into military nutrition during the First WorldWar, which is of paramount importance, but until now almost never dealt with in historiography.
A research work that lasted over six months, which allowed to structure the conference in a series of more than 180 photographs and mostly unpublished cards, explained individually live, trying to analyze the various aspects of thesupply water andalcohol, talking about the food in its many facets, until it leads the viewer to empathize with this long and particular journey into food and nutrition during the war,until they reach the trenches of the advanced lines.

ROMEO COVOLO

Born in Roana (Vi) on 19.04.1952, resident in Asiago.
He has held important activities within the C.A.I., including: from 1984 to 1994, responsible for the trails of the Plateau, from 1985 to 1989 President of the Section, from 1989 to 1996 Responsible for youth mountaineering.
Mountaineer and ski mountaineer, he made ascents on the major mountains of the Alps.

1990 Awarded the Honour of the Black Cross of Austria (Ehrenkreuz Ia Klasse) (for operational reasons in accordance with the events of the First World War).
In 1994 he participated as expedition leader in the rise of the Pik Lenina 7,134 meters. Great expert and historical connoisseur and naturalist of the territory of the Plateau. Instructor Italian School Nordic Walking, for many years collaborates with enti, museums, schools and associations, in the realization of educational activities, hiking and courses in topography and orientation.
