PROGRAM FESTIVAL OF MADONNA DELLA SALUTE
• Hours 11.00 solemn Holy Mass
• 14.30 Hours Celebration of the word and the administration of the sacrament of anointing with comfort. After solemn procession with the statue of the madonna.
THE MADONNA DELLA SALUTE
The occurrence originated from the great bubonic plague epidemic that struck across North Italy between 1630 and 1631. This is the same epidemic described by Alessandro Manzoni in I promessi sposi.
In the culminating moment of the epidemic, in the absence of other solutions, the Government of the Republic organized a procession of prayer to our Lady, in which he participated for three days and three nights the whole surviving population.
