On Monday, July 8th , the Biosphaera Guides organize a historical excursion to Forte Campolongo and the Sciason Cave.
The departure will be at 9.00 a.m. from the Piazzale del Rifugio Campolongo, where you can leave your car and from where the path that will take you to the top will start.
Initially, you will cross a forest characterized by a beautiful spruce forest, but also by the presence of some broad-leaved trees, until you reach a panoramic point on the Astico Valley below.
You will then reach the Campolongo Fort, dating back to the Great War, which can also be visited inside, where you will understand the terrible events that involved it and the living conditions of the soldiers, also thanks to the reading of some testimonies of the time.
We will descend along a different route, passing through the imposing Caverna dello Sciason, an example of the karst typical of the Plateau of the Seven Municipalities and a place shrouded in legends and mysteries.
For those who wish, at the end of the excursion it will be possible to have lunch at the Campolongo Refuge (it is necessary to book independently).
The excursion will be led by an Environmental, Hiking and Historical Guide.
