Guided excursions
with Asiago Guide
DESCRIPTION of the EXCURSION: Although the plateau is not one of the world's most famous fossil-bearing areas, there have been some important scientific discoveries, like crocodile and remains one of the most famous marine reptiles of all time, the Plesiosaur.
Together, during the excursion we will talk about these discoveries, but we focus primarily on analyzing the "red marble". This material is deposited as mud on the sea floor about 150 million years ago and contains within it still thousands upon thousands of remains of animals that inhabited this prehistoric sea.
But they won't be only fossils. The course will wind through the Woods, in the Alpine pastures, grazing amid the cows and Alpine pools to recognize the traces of wild animals, plants and flowers of the territory.
The children will be given a fossil or fragment of it just as a souvenir of the trip!
