Friday 22 September 2023 Gallio will welcome and greet the traditional transhumance of Bressanvido.

The center of Gallium will witness the passage of over 400 heads of cattle that, after spending the summer months on the pastures of the Plateau of the Seven Municipalities, will return to their shelters in the plain. This is the so-called "demontication", an event always eagerly awaited by both the local population and tourists.

The arrival of the cattle in the village is expected between 13: 00 and 13:30, when the malghesi will support in Piazza Italia for a warm greeting to the population. 

Transhumance is a practice with ancient roots, a real cultural heritage that has been handed down from generation to generation. But transhumance is not only a reminder of the past, it is also a way to celebrate the hard work of the malghesi, custodians of a sustainable agricultural system that has helped shape the landscape and culture of our lands for centuries.
