Guided tour of the rock carvings of Val d'assa from Canove, Hoga festival Zait
Saturday, July 15, 2017 from 09.00, departing from the parish church of Canove, is scheduled theguided excursion to graffiti of Val d Assa, con l'associazione Archeidos.
The Val d Assa is the deepest Valley incision ofAltopiano dei Sette Comuni. Only recently, following a great flood which liberated the riverbed by the alluvial deposits, emerged the prehistoric engravings of this mysterious Valley, evidence of life in a harsh territory. The oldest of them date from the Millennium BC. others are more uncertain. These are mainly anthropomorphic, Zoomorphic figures, teomorfe and solar symbols. Fossils have been found prehistoric animal remains and lithic dating to the Middle Paleolithic.
The trip fits into the rich program of events organized on the occasion of , the Cimbric Festival which each year celebrates the origins of the CimbriAltopiano dei Sette Comuni.
This is anopportunity not to be missed as the archaeological site can be visited only with specialized guides.
