The Val d Assa is the deepest Valley incision ofAltopiano dei Sette Comuni. Only after such an exceptional flood of 1981 which liberated the riverbed by the alluvial deposits, emerged the prehistoric engravings of this mysterious Valley, evidence of life in a harsh territory. The oldest of them date from the Millennium BC. others are more uncertain. These are mainly anthropomorphic, Zoomorphic figures, teomorfe and solar symbols. Fossils have been found prehistoric animal remains and lithic dating to the Middle Paleolithic.
