Wednesday, August 25, 2021 the ETHNOGRAPHIC MUSEUM OF FOZA in collaboration with GUIDE ALTOPIANO organizes theguided excursion with guides of the territory to Monte Fior,on the Plateau of the Seven Municipalities.
MEETING: 8:45 am in front of the Ethnographic Museum of Foza
EXCURSION DURATION: 4 hours
DIFFICULTY: * medium/easy
DIFFERENCE IN HEIGHT: 200 m D+
DISPLACEMENT: by own means
LUNCH: packed or at the end of the excursion
EXCURSION DEVELOPMENT:
Mount Fior and the Melette di Foza during the Great War between 1916 and 1917 were in the "front line". In 1916 the first Battle of the Melette and then in 1917 with the battle of arrest, the whole territory was the scene of bloody clashes. Today, however, peace and tranquility reign, sheep and cattle graze and the meadows are no longer battlefields, but lush mountain huts.
The characteristic "Rock Crowns" of ammonite red in chromatic contrast with the verdant pastures make the area unique in its kind. From Mount Fior 1824 m.s.l.m. we will enjoy an exceptional panoramic point where our gaze can range to 360 °. To the west the Plateau basin with Gallio in the foreground, then Asiago, Camporovere, Canove, as well as a magnificent overview of the entire high area, Portule, Cima Larici, Cima XI and XII, Ortigara, Calidiera.
