Theseven Municipalities Plateau is certainly one of the most important places in Italy for events dating back to World War I. The proposed route leads hikers in the visit of one of the most significant battlegrounds.
In 1916, at the end of the Strafexpedition, the second infantry regiment Bosno-Erzegovese white weapon attacks these mountains with his Lieutenant-Colonel in the lead, but the Italian army manages to resist tenaciously. In 1917 the Kaiserjäger manage to reclaim it, but at such a price as to decide to the Emperor Charles I° to suspend the offensive.
The location is ideal for those who want to combine a high historical value, not to mention the many natural beauty and geological explorations in the area.
The excursion is considered of medium difficulty. It must befitted with a flashlight i seen two important and suggestive passages within tunnels.
