Hoga Zait 2019 - The Cimbro Festival of the Plateau in Roana and hamlets - From 12 to 21 July 2019

Cimbro festival with shows, parties, traditional games and much more, organized by the Pro Loco of the Municipality of Roana

Hoga Zait (which in cimbralanguage means "beautiful weather" or "high time", so party time for the cimbs) is a festival dedicated to the culture of the cimbra, organized by the Pro Loco of the hamlets of the Municipality of Roana ( Roana, Camporovere, Canove, Mezzaselva, Treschè Conca and Cesuna) with the supervision of the Municipality of Roana and the formal support of the Veneto Region, which will return to animate the Highland summer from 12 to 21 July 2019.

A real dive into the past, a return to theorigins, which will involve high-rise, tourists and curious with various days of shows, cultural meetings, workshops, historical re-enactments, exhibitions, concerts, games and folk moments , which will take place in all the hamlets of the Municipality of Roana.

An opportunity to rediscover ancient traditions, customs andcustoms, the typical gastronomy and all the peculiarities of our land and the people of the Cimbri ofthe Seven Municipalities, in an atmosphere of celebration, serenity, joy and spirit integration and unity, rich in historical, social and human values.

The first events that will start the event will be the children's workshops that will take place on Friday 12 in the afternoon and that will be present throughout the weekend in the countries of Treschè Conca, Canove and Mezzaselva; each child will be given a different color brooch for each country as a certificate of participation. After a short midweek break, he will recover on Saturday 20 and Sunday 21 to receive the latest pins and receive as a prize a T-shirt signed Hoga Zait.

For five days there will be the opportunity to join walks and guided excursions to relive the traditions of the past and retrace in the districts the paths of the ancient migrations; to facilitate the departure of each excursion is always fixed at 9:30 in the morning and to conclude the event will be held a last appointment Sunday 21 in the afternoon for the inevitable crossing of the Val D'Assa.
For lovers of ancient foremen's traditions, an unmissable event will be on the morning of Sunday 21 July with the visit of "Malga Meatta" by Camporovere.

From Thursday 18 to Sunday 21, the village of Cesuna will host the 3rd Wooden Sculpture Symposium with the theme "TheAncient Corners of Cesuna".

The events of the shows and musical concerts that will engage the days of the two weekends will be unmissable. Completing the " Festival of theMarinella" on Friday 12th will be the local group Balt Handtar that will kick off the festival by offering cimbrian-folk/folk-metal music, on Saturday will be held the presentation of the CD with songs in dialect-veneto/ "The Court of Rochi" and on Sunday in the early afternoon we will be enveloped by the music with the concert "Gamacht Kan Toballe" (made in Mezzaselva) by Pierangelo Tamiozzo.
Saturday, July 20th will be the turn of the fairy-tale show "Zeleghen Baiblen" at the Park of Legends of Cesuna; The StoanEngel Group un de Klenkallen will be present in Roana on the evening of Sunday where the event will end.

In conjunction with the musical events there will be an opportunity to taste gastronomic delicacies prepared by local restaurateurs, with the addition of a "Show Cooking" of typical cimbri dishes on Sunday 14 in Mezzaselva.

Accompanying you throughout the Festival will be the constant participation of the Schellatr-gar who proudly guard and make the Schella,a bell symbol of the Roanesian hamlets, stand out.

THE CIMBRI

The earliest origin of this people is traced back to the end of the 2nd centuryBC, when the Cimbri, Germanic or Celtictribe, invaded the territory of the Roman republic, settling around the Venetian Alps and maintaining language andculture. Ancient sources indicate their original location in northern Jutland,in present-day Denmark,called the cimbra peninsula throughout antiquity.

More recently and consequently more endorsed by the scientific community, it was the descent from southern Germany to the south of the Alps and also on thePlateau, around and especially after the year Thousand (low MiddleAges ), of some groups fromthe Bavaro-Tyrolean languagearea. These were peoples who had emigrated from Germany, mostly peacefully, in search of land to cultivate tolive, often led by bishops,imperial representatives, religious orders, as it turns out some historical documents.

(Canove), Kamparube, Or (Camporovere), Kan Zune (Cesuna), Kunka people (Treschè Conca), Sléghe, Sléghe (Asiago), Ghèl, Iran (Gallio), Wasche, N.E., (Foza), Lusaan, N. (Lusiana), Ghènebe, Inve (Enego), Ròtz, Ind. (Rotzo), Kunken, New Hampshire (Conco), Toballe, Orballe (Mezzaselva).


HOW TO ARRIVE TO ROANA

Roana is part of theAsiago 7 Common Plateau located in the VenetianAlps, in the province of Vicenza. It is accessed mainly from the exit of the A4 motorway to Piovene Rocchette and along the SP 349 Cost Road. Other access routes are from Trento the SS47, from Bassano del Grappa the Tortima SP148, and finally the SS47 from Primolano.
