Inauguration of Strong Lisser restored with guided tour-June 25, 2017
Sunday, June 25, 2017 will open Strong Lisser, who will again be open to the public after a restoration that interested it in recent years.
At 11.00 hours there will be a ribbon-cutting ceremony in the presence of dignitaries, will be followed by a guided tour of the Fort, during which participants will visit the facility even inside.
8.00 a.m., also, will work a free shuttle service from location Tombal, useful to anyone who wishes to achieve Strong Lisser for the occasion.
We recommend hiking attire.
THE STRONG LISSER
Built in just a year, from 1911 to 1912, the STRONG LISSER was one of the most modern fortifications among those used on the Asiago plateau during the first world war, top hinge of the "Barrage Brenta-Cismon".
Because of the distance from the front, at the beginning of the great war the Strong Lisser was unarmed and, following the Italian retreat, was blasted for not leaving it to the Austrians who were advancing.
He was also badly damaged during thespring offensive when, on June 8, 1916, were centered the domes by some shots from 305 mm. Finally, in November 1917, fell under Austro-Hungarian.
