Saturday 19 August 2023 from 9.30 to 12.30
Destination: Monte Corno, Lusiana, Asiago plateau and the Seven Municipalities (VI)
We leave for a refreshing walk in a forest visibly marked by the First World War, just as attested by the English Cemetery of Granezza, the numerous trenches still visible and the signs left by the stationing of the allied armies sent here since 1917.
Monte Corno offers a splendid view of the plain, on clear days, up to the Venice lagoon. This position made it an excellent escape route during the exodus of the refugee linked to the First World War. After seeing the highlands flee with the few goods they had, it was a place of battles and garrisoned by the British allies. During the Second World War the area was the scene of fierce fighting between Germans and partisans as evidenced by various tombstones and memorial stones, the Sacello di Granezza and the Monte Corno Monument.
The guide will accompany you through these places that have exciting stories to tell, landscapes that know how to amaze and a natural context that gives strong emotions.
