25 April in Asiago - Ceremony for the 75th anniversary of the Liberation

On 25 April 2020,on the occasion of the 75th anniversary ofthe Liberation, the City of Asiago organizes a commemoration ceremony to renew its commitment to strengthen day after day the ideals of freedom, justice and democracy in memory of all those who sacrificed to make us free.

Italy, coming out of the tragic events of the last war, is a democracy in which freedom is an indispensable value, a commitment and a wealth to be passed on to future generations. On this day dedicated to the commemoration and remembrance of the Fallen for freedom, the city of Asiago wants to make a strong appeal to peace between peoples and to peaceful coexistence in solidarity and mutual respect.

In full compliance with the current provisions, the ceremony will take place this year remaining each at home, distant but united in the conviction of a community that does not want to forget its history even at such a particular moment.

Italy, the exit of the tragic events of the last war, is a democracy in which freedom is an indispensable value, a commitment and a wealth to be passed on to future generations. We renew our commitment to strengthening the ideals of freedom, justice and democracy day after day in the memory of all those who sacrificed to make us free, in our mountains as in the Nazi lagers, giving for an ideal youth up to the sacrifice of life.

We make a strong appeal to peace between peoples and to peaceful coexistence in solidarity and mutual respect.

The ceremony is NOT OPEN to public participation following the Covid-19 restrictions

Citizens are asked to display the tricolor by sharing the memory of the Asian Fallen for Freedom.
