Literary meeting with Gianpietro Olivetto and presentation of the book "The Sweet Life of Fraka" at the Museum Le Prisons of Asiago - July 21, 2020

On Tuesday, July 21, 2020,at the Garden of the Museum of Asiago Prisons, there will be an interesting literary meeting with Gianpietro Olivetto and presentation of the book "The Sweet Life of Fraka".

The meeting will begin at 5.30 pm and will be introduced by Alessandro Comin.

In case of bad weather, the meeting is postponed until Wednesday 22 July.

FRAKA'S DOLCE VITA

A chronicler who could photograph with words, philosopher, poet, playwright, humorist and curious of women. This was the Verona-made Arnaldo Fraccaroli (Villa Bartolomea 1882-Milan 1956), for almost 50 years sent by Corriere. Thanks to his versatility, Fraka - so he also loved to sign - produced thousands of articles of all kinds and over a hundred among novels, travel books, novels, essays, plays, biographies (three about his friend Puccini). He had class to sell and an extraordinary ability to move from war reporting to brilliant comedy. He invented the phrase "sweet life", thus titled one of his works. He was, during the First World War, one of the best correspondents from the front. He made famous the phrase "better to live an hour as a lion than a hundred years as a sheep" and for his behavior in battle he obtained a cross and a medal for military valour. He was one of the first reporters to fly airships and airplanes and visit Hollywood. He discovered and introduced America to the "roaring years" and jazz.
