Guided excursion in the places of the Great War with the guides plateau of Asiago-"Monte Cengio: to the peak on the Val D'astico"
REVIEW THE GREAT STORY IN HIGHLAND
This excursion is ideal for those who want to combine a difficult path with a visit to a place of high historical value, located in a position from which one can admire the most beautiful landscapes of the entire plateau.
The excursion is considered easy, walking even by non-experienced hikers.
The trail develops along the southwest side of the mountainous massif, dug for long stretches in the living rock and in some places using tunnels, for about 4 km, allowing you to reach the altitude 1347 of the summit.
The difference in altitude of 150 meters seems not to be felt, as the many points of historical interest (trenches, galleries, artillery posts, in addition to the famous leap of Grenadiers) allow pleasant stops and in case of Hot days the passages in the gallery allow to refresh themselves.
The view on the final part of the Valle Dell'astico and on the back plain of which you can enjoy all the way takes your breath away.

We "Highland guides" are the first group of professional guides on the plateau. We are local guides operating on the territory of the plateau of the seven municipalities from 2008. The membership of the place by the members of the group assures an intimate knowledge of the proposed destinations and a deeply respectful approach to the environment and its history. READING THE DEGREE OF DIFFICULTY:
Easy: The itinerary takes place on forest roads, dirt or easy mule tracks always well indicated and without problems of orientation in cases of fog or bad weather. Medium: The itinerary definitely exceeds three hours, it is more complex, it takes place on a path with some uphill or descent demanding but can be overcome without the support of mountaineering equipment. The terrain can be disconnected or lacking in signals. The maximum height difference is still within the 300 meters.
Medium/demanding: The itinerary definitely exceeds the three hours, is complex for the difference in altitude that can reach 500 meters or the length of walk up to 6 hours, takes place on a path with some uphill or downhill but can be overcome without the support of mountaineering equipment. The terrain can be disconnected or lacking in signals.
Challenging: They are itineraries that require a lot of experience, training and physical strength from the person who travels. It is necessary to be able to move with skill also in the dangerous soils: scree, steep slopes or steep stretches, dense stain, high and without references, passages in rock, absence of springs. The difficulty of the terrain and the distance from the points of support require a total autonomy. Where indicated there may be the need to bring to the following bivouac material such as the tent, Bivouac sack, cooker, food, requires training, energy and strong motivation.
