EXCURSION TO MOUNT CENGIO OVER THE VENETIAN PLAIN
September 13, 2020, Asiago Plateau
SEE: 8:45 a.m. at the Piazzale della Baita Azzurra in Treschè Conca di Roana

EXCURSION:
The trail develops along the southwest side of the mountain massif, carved for long stretches into the living rock and in some places using tunnels.
The trail is spread for about 7 km, allowing you to reach 1347 meters of the summit but the difference of 200 meters seems not to be felt, as the numerous points of historical interest (trenches, tunnels, artillery stations, in addition to the famous grenade blaster jump) allow pleasant stops and in case of hot days the tunnel passages allow you to cool off.
The view of the final part of the Astico Valley and the back of the plain that you enjoy all the way takes your breath away.

READING THE DEGREE OF DIFFICULTY:
FACILE: The route takes place on forest roads, dirt roads or easy mulees always well indicated and without orientation problems in cases of fog or bad weather. AVERAGE: The route definitely exceeds three hours, it is more complex, it takes place on a trail with some challenging climbs or descent but can be overcome without the support of mountaineering equipment. The terrain can be disconnected or lack of signals. The maximum difference in altitude, however, remains within the 400 meters.
MEDIO/IMPEGNATIVE: The route definitely exceeds three hours, it is complex for the difference in altitude that can reach 700 meters or for the length of the walk up to 6 hours, it takes place on a trail with some challenging ascent or descent but can be overcome without the support of mountaineering equipment. IMPEGNATIVO: These itineraries require a lot of experience, training and physical strength from those who travel them. it is necessary to know how to move expertly even in dangerous terrain: gravels, steep slopes or steep stretches, thick scrub, high and unreferenced, passages in rock, absence of springs. The difficulty of the terrain and the distance from the points of support require total autonomy. Where indicated there may be a need to bring to the tow bivouac material such as the tent, bivouac bag, stove, food, requires training, energy and strong motivation.

We "Highland Guides" are the first group of professional guides of the Plateau. We are local guides operating on the territory of the Plateau of the Seven Municipalities since 2008. Our passions for nature, history and sport have led us to choose a life path based on the study of the environment and local history. Graduates in scientific, tourist and sports subjects such as Forestry and Environmental Sciences, Natural Sciences and Motor Sciences we have also specialized in the historical field with courses recognized by the Province of Vicenza. In order to be able to practice professionally, we are regularly enrolled in the professional registers of Environmental Naturalistic Guide (L.R. 33 of 2002 of Veneto), or Of Accompanying media Montagna (L.R. 23 July 2013, n.18).
