Guided Excursion Mount Ortigara with GUIDE ALTOPIANO - Mountain Professionals
Symbol of the cruelty of the war on the Plateau, Mount Ortigara, also known as the "Calvary of the Alps", still bears the signs of that tragic battle.
After a hundred years, roads, walkways, bases of shacks, tunnels, stations and trenches allow us to read, as if it were yesterday, the unfolding of the clashes: battalions and battalions of alpines, targets and pits burned in the cauldron of a necessity which has turned into tactical nonsense.
Now only the murmur of rain, the hiss of the wind or the thunder of some thunderstorm has remained of that cacophony of orders, screams, bangs, gunshots, cries and invocations that have upset this small portion of the world, the last sight by so many and many men who, climbed here from half of Europe, have not returned to their countries.
Their souls remain up here, which, as in ancient legends, have turned into a thousand and a thousand beautiful flowers.

We "Guide Plateau" are the first group of professional guides of the plateau. We are local guides operating on the territory of the Plateau of the Seven Municipalities since 2008. Membership in the place by the members of the group ensures an intimate knowledge of the proposed destinations and a deeply respectful approach to the environment and its history. Our Guides are recognized mountain professionals and registered in the Province of Vicenza; they propose to accompany groups of people on excursions and tours guide on the territory, as provided by L.R. N.33 of 04/11/2002 and according to the laws of the professional registers of which fans part.
