From May 5 to September 14, 2024, the Museum of the Great War in Canove di Roana, on the Asiago 7 Municipalities Plateau, will host a unique exhibition of great historical significance: "Alpini - Our history through the covers of the Domenica del Corriere".
This exhibition, curated by Gian Paolo Marchetti, Giovanni Basso and Lt. Col. Mario Renna, offers a journey through the historical covers of the Domenica del Corriere, which immortalized with lively and immediate graphics the events of the Alpini, the elite corps of the Italian army known for its courage and resilience. The selected covers tell stories of sacrifice, community and heroism, illustrating significant moments that marked the history of these brave soldiers.
The scientific direction is entrusted to Dr. Glauco Angeletti, an expert oplologist of the Ministry of Culture, whose expertise guarantees an accurate and detailed approach in the presentation of the materials on display.
The exhibition not only offers the opportunity to explore a fundamental aspect of Italian military history through the illustrations that have made the history of Italian journalism, but also serves as a moment of reflection on the role of the Alpini in Italy's cultural and historical identity.
We invite all lovers of history, graphic art and military traditions to visit the Museum of the Great War in Canove di Roana to discover the visual narratives that the Alpini told to the Italians, in an exhibition that promises to be as informative as it is emotionally engaging.
