Tuesday, August 62013 returns Asiago Festival, now in its 47 ^ Edition.

The first scheduled appointment will see the organ concert by the artist Karel Martínek. The music will be by J.S.Bach, Gigout, Dupré, Martínek.

The event will be held at St. Matthew's Cathedral of Asiago, 21:00 hours.



Karel Martínek is an organist at St. Maurice in Olomouc, where he plays the famous tool by Michael Engler. He was born in Olomouc (1979), where he studied at theUniversity of Palacký (Mathematics-Faculty of physics, Faculty of philosophy, musicology). Between 2004 and 2009 studied organ at the Janáček Academy of music in Brno with k. Klugarová and improvisation with k. Pokora.

Took part in a series of masterclass with leading organists (Susan Landale, Martin Sander, Günther Kaunzinger, Julian Gembalski, Reitze Smits) and participated in various contests of interpretation and improvisation.

His concerts in Czech Republic and abroad (Germany, Austria, Poland, Slovakia, the Netherlands, Ukraine) include organ pieces from all eras and styles; he devoted himself especially to improvisation. He was teacher for improvisation at the Church Conservatoire of Opava (2007-2009), now teaches at the Conservatory of the Evangelical Academy in Olomouc.

He regularly collaborates with prominent ensembles of Moravianmusic. He produced several albums and took part in the production of documentaries for the Palacký University. In addition, deals with composition: Besides pieces for organ solo, he composed songs for piano, chorus and orchestra, some of whom rewarded at composition contests.
