51st Edition of ASIAGO FESTIVAL-Concert with organist Karel Martinek

On August 10, 2017 will kick off the 51st Edition of "Asiago Festival" traditional music festival organized by the friends of music of Asiago "Fiorella Benetti Banks" in collaboration with the municipality.

The first concert ofAsiago 2017 Festival will star the musician Karel Martinek, who will perform at 21.00 at the Cathedral of St. Matthew.

Improvisations and compositions by Bach, Vierne, Dupréand Alain , for an evening of classical music.

KAREL MARTÍNEK

Karel Martínek is an organist at St. Maurice in Olomouc, where he plays the famous tool by Michael Engler. He was born in Olomouc (1979) and there he studied at the University of Palacký (Mathematics-Faculty of physics, later Faculty of philosophy – musicology). Between 2004 and 2009 studied organ at the Music Academy in Brno Janáček with k. Klugarová and improvisation with k. Pokora.

He took part in a series of master classes with leading organists (Susan Landale, Martin Sander, Günther Kaunzinger, Julian Gembalski, Reitze Smits) and participated in several competitions of interpretation and improvisation.

His concerts in the Czech Republic and abroad (Germany, Austria, Poland, Slovakia, the Netherlands, Ukraine) include organ works from all periods and styles; He devoted himself particularly to improvisation. He taught improvisation at the Church Conservatoire in Opava (2007-2009), now teaches at the Conservatory of the Evangelical Academy in Olomouc.

He regularly collaborates with prominent Moravian music ensemble. He produced several albums and took part in the production of documentaries for the Palacký University. In addition, it deals with composition: in addition to the pieces for organ solo, he composed pieces for piano, chorus and orchestra, some of whom rewarded in contests of composition.
