Field study on fascinating nocturnal animals

A full-immersion into the magical world of nocturnal birds typical of our mountains. On the occasion of this field study will premiere nationwide on book: "stories of OWLS" by Marco Magi and illustrations by Stephen Tan.

PROGRAM & ORGANIZING THE EVENT CURATED BY ASIAGO GUIDE

FRIDAY, APRIL 20-reception, DINNER and GUIDED TOUR
Meeting and greeting of participants at the hotel "La Pineta" from Cesuna. Dinner with friends at a restaurant in Cesuna (optional). Guided excursion "retracingthe nocturnal birds of prey" among the de forests of spruce. Return to hotel

SATURDAY, APRIL 21-CLASSROOM SESSION, DINNER and GUIDED TOUR
Lesson: "the nocturnal birds of prey in the Alps, species, habitats and habits"
Lunch break
Lesson: "monitoring techniques"
Afternoon off (those interested can stay with us to cooperate in a campaign of scientific monitoring on nocturnal birds)
Dinner with friends at the Farm red Rubbio (optional)
Guided hike "on the trail of the owls" among beech woods with the use of the technique of playback

SUNDAY, APRIL 22-lesson IN CLASSROOM, WORKSHOP
Lesson: "the plumage and the recognition of traces and signs of the presence of nocturnal birds" and "the eagle owl and his presence in the Alps"
Lunch break
Practical workshop on the owls ' diet: "how to study the trophic systems and transform research into a fascinating environmental education activities for the kids."

TRAINER

Marco Magi-internationally renowned expert on nocturnal birds of prey will be present for the duration of the field study. Born in Milan on 29 December 1967 is an ornithologist who specializes in research and study of the ecology of nocturnal birds, writer and naturalist hiking guide.
Author of hundreds of articles on magazine and newspaper and dozens of scientific cutting. Founder and Chairman of Italian owls, only Italian Association that deals with owls.
Author of 19 books and documentaries about the nocturnal birds and other animals.
In 2015 in Minnesota was awarded by the Global Owl Project of the best expert of owls in the world for that year and joined the prestigious World Owl Hall of Fame.
Artistic Director of the Festival of owls ® and cat ® Festival.
She has won several literary awards, among them the first naturalistic Park Majella literature prize. Guest on many radio and television broadcasts (Geo, One Morning, ...).

Ivan Mosele-wildlife photographer will accompany us during the excursions offering us some technical advice in order to immortalize the nocturnal birds of prey.

REGISTRATION AND COSTS
The course will be activated with a minimum of 12 participants.
The subscription period runs from 1 March 2018 to April 10.

Registration is considered valid only after payment has been made, as shown in the instructions for the form provided.

Any waivers to the course by April 8 will be refunded 75%, no refunds after this date.

COURSE FEE
Course: €80 per participant, including 2 days of lectures and workshop activities, two night tours, educational participation certificate.

AIGA Members are entitled to a discount of €10 and will have the opportunity to be recognized of credits (to be defined).

EXTRA FIELD STUDY (MEMBERSHIP OPTIONAL)
-Lunch in the company: quota for the common fund of €15 per participant (includes two lunches)
-Overnight stay (2 nights) and breakfast: €30 per person at the hotel "La Pineta" from Cesuna in dormitories, with shared bathroom
-Dinner with local products (2 courses): €15 per person per dinner.

If you choose to join the whole package offered to the overall cost of the field study
(April 20-21-22 on the plateau of Asiago) amounted to €155 (€145 for guides AIGAE).
