BOOK "THE PORTRAIT" - Joints

An intense novel, which mixes memory and contemporaneity.

"It is a novel that through the key of adventure and mystery speaks of the value of Renaissance art and how even today we can grasp its meaning and beauty thanks to the magnificent Italian museums. It is also a love story without cultural barriers, but with the passion of art history that unites two very young people, a way to make girls and boys curious about our artistic heritage, our history, our identity." Paula Zannoner

Silvia works as a caretaker in the Palatine Gallery of Palazzo Pitti in Florence. She is one of the youngest employees and is recruited to be part of an innovative security system, managed by an app that tracks visitors at all times and provides data and information by crossing them with Public Safety.

Just at the same time, Doyun, a silent and charming young Korean, shows up in the Gallery every day to admire for hours, as if hypnotized, one of Raphael's masterpieces, La Velata.

Between the two boys a delicate, deep feeling is born, which Silvia is pushed to strongly question after that on Easter Day, in an unprecedented theft, the painting disappears, despite the impregnable security system of the museum. Who will be the main suspect? And why did Doyun become so cryptic and elusive? How can Silvia have been wrong about her? Can he really count on his love? In a breathtaking story through the winding streets of the center of the beautiful city, an open-air museum, the two boys will be able to reveal the arcane dragged by the passion and love for art, our collective heritage.

A novel that can be read all in one breath, capable of arousing strong emotions and precious reflections with an adventurous, exciting, contemporary narrative rhythm.
