PIAZZASIAGO 2024 rassegna di incontri ad Asiago

From Sunday 28 July to Friday 2 August 2024, the splendid setting of Piazza Giovanni Carli in Asiago will host the second edition of the "PiazzAsiago" festival.
An unmissable event that will see the participation of leading figures from the Italian political, cultural and journalistic scene
Hosted by David Parenzo, a well-known journalist, radio and television presenter, and Alessandro De Angelis, journalist and deputy director of the Huffington Post Italia, PiazzAsiago will offer a stimulating journey through some of the most relevant current issues.

The opening of the festival, on July 28, will mark the beginning of an event full of debates and shows and will see the participation of the Mayor of Asiago, Roberto Rigoni Stern, and the Minister of Culture, Gennaro Sangiuliano, together with illustrious guests such as Antonio Monda, professor at New York University,  Cecilia Gasdia, superintendent of the Arena di Verona Foundation, and Maurizio Molinari, Director of La Repubblica.
The evening will end at the Millepini Theater in Asiago with the show "Up & Down", written and directed by Paolo Ruffini, director and actor known for his innovative and inclusive approach to theater. It is a comic and moving variety, in collaboration with the Mayor Von Frinzius theater company, composed largely of actors with Down syndrome and other disabilities, which aims to explore and celebrate the beauty of human diversity (free admission by reservation).

The following day, sustainability will be discussed with "Green Europe and the challenge of the future". Speakers will include Gilberto Pichetto Fratin, Minister of the Environment, and Marco Ravasi, President of Assovetro, together with Paolo Cerioli, Director of Innovation of the Fincantieri Group, and Michelangelo Suigo, Director of External Relations, Communication and Sustainability of Inwit Spa.
In the afternoon, a debate on America at the polls will see among the protagonists Giampiero Massolo, former President of ISPI (Institute for International Political Studies) and author of "Realpolitik", Maurizio Molinari and geopolitical analyst Greta Cristini.

On Tuesday 30 July, the journalist and writer Corrado Augias will offer a profound dialogue on Italy and the world, presenting his book "Life is learned". Afterwards, Adolfo Urso, Minister of Enterprise and Made in Italy, will discuss the role of Made in Italy in global markets, adding an important economic perspective to the review, and Janina Landau, journalist of Class CNBC, a television channel specializing in economic and financial news, will contribute to the discussion.

There will be no shortage of internal political debates, such as the one to be held on Wednesday 31 July on the future of Italy's third political pole with Carlo Calenda, leader of Azione and author of "The Pact. Over thirty years lost".
The day will continue with the writer Erri De Luca, known for his political and social activism and often involved in environmental and humanitarian causes. The author will present his book "Water Seekers" a collection of eight stories, which explores the real and symbolic value of water, with biblical references and reflections on drought and climate change.

On Thursday 1 August, Mario Monti, Senator for life and former Prime Minister, will speak on the politics of European illusions, flanked by Tonia Mastrobuoni, Berlin correspondent for La Repubblica, and Fulvio Lorefice, Head ofthe FB&Associati Study Centre and Mario Nava, Director General for Social Policies, Labour and Inclusion for the European Commission. This will be followed by the debate "50 shades of PD", with the participation of PD MEPs Alessandra Moretti and Marco Tarquinio.

The day will end at the Millepini Theater with the one-man-show "Via Crux" by Giuseppe Cruciani, journalist and radio host famous for his program "La Zanzara" on Radio 24 and known for his sharp style. The show is characterized by a provocative and irreverent approach, where Cruciani bluntly addresses the contradictions of our time, sparing no criticism and offering an irreverent cross-section of contemporary society.

The review will end on Friday 2 August with a debate on Fratelli d'Italia, moderated by Giovanni Donzelli, deputy of the party, and by the journalist Giuseppe Cruciani
In addition, Giovanni Grasso, journalist and writer, will present his book "Love no one sees", followed by an intimate dialogue with Gino Cecchettin about his book "Cara Giulia. What I learned from my daughter", moderated by Andrea Malaguti, director of La Stampa, and Gaia Tortora, Deputy Director of TG La7.

PiazzAsiago represents a unique opportunity to immerse yourself in the most current and controversial issues of our time, thanks to the presence of illustrious guests who will share their experiences and points of view with the public. It will be a balanced and inclusive forum, where different and contrasting ideas can be compared, allowing the public to form a more complete and articulated vision of the topics covered.
The presence of prominent figures with different political and ideological backgrounds makes the PiazzAsiago review a truly pluralistic event, where the exchange of ideas is at the center of the program. This approach is key to fostering a constructive and enriching public debate and to fostering an in-depth understanding of today's most pressing challenges.

Don't miss the opportunity to participate in this extraordinary event in Asiago.

The meetings will be broadcast live on La Repubblica, La Stampa and Huffpost.
