Pomeriggio letterario al Forte Corbin con Loris Giuriatti

Saturday, September 4 , 2021, at 16:00, at the evocative setting of in Teschè Conca, Loris Giuriatti presents his book "The Angel of Grappa", published by Rizzoli.

THE BOOK

Angelo is a teenager like many others: he loves music and video games, has a passion for street art and, above all, hates school. He would like to spend the summer in the city, with friends, but his parents have other plans: a holiday on Mount Grappa, in a remote hut without an Internet connection.

Up there time passes with placid slowness and meeting a peer is almost impossible; among the peaks there are only the roe deer and the malgari veci that collect relics of the First World War. Angelo gets bored, snorts, protests. He still does not know that the mountain follows mysterious paths, and has chosen him as the guardian of its secrets.

So, during a walk, he came across a diary that belonged to a soldier in 1918: his name was Antonio, he was nineteen years old, they had sent him on the Grappa from deep Sardinia. He was also a boy, but he had a rifle on his shoulder and a lot of fear in his heart.

Angelo begins to read and feels that a part of those pages is hidden out there, among the trenches, the rocks and the thick of the woods. He wants to follow in Antonio's footsteps, to recompose the pieces of his life. But where to start?

Thanks to the guidance of a young researcher he will learn to listen to the voice of the mountain and will discover that history, far from the benches and questions, can turn into the most extraordinary of adventures.

Self-published in 2013 and immediately became a local publishing case, L'Angelo del Grappa returns to bookstores with a new enriched edition.
